About Ladysmith Station

Ladysmith Railway Station opened on 14th May 1917 and consisted of a station building on an 85m down-side platform.

Opposite was a loop line with a goods siding serving a loading bank, goods shed and gantry crane. Further up the line was a stock siding with stock yard.  It closed on 4th May 1975.

It became a tourist railway station for a while, having been preserved by the "Tumba Rail" group. .

Ladysmith is one of the few stations remaining on the old line, and with trikes on display

Currently the station building and infrastructure iare in very good condition

Also visible are several lever frames, the goods shed and loading bank and signals.

There is a silo at the north end of the yard.

The Cache

The cache is outside the fenced area and you do not need to enter to find the cache.

You can observe all there is to see from behind the fence.

The container is a small screw top cylinder in a typical hide.
