🌈🧚 WARNING: this multicache will be very hard if there is snow on the ground!
As a member of the Nature Trail & Sidewalk Commission here in town, I just helped develop this little trail system here in Marlborough! For this cache, you will follow the light blue blazes (map). If you're not sure how to 'read' the blazes, learn how here. Hope you enjoy this new trail and cache!
This is a multicache with kids in mind, though they'll probably need help with the puzzle portion. I've given you the coordinates for each stage. You must go in order. At each of the first five stages, you need to collect information that you will use to figure out the combination for the lock to the cache in stage 6.
For the first five stages, you are looking for a wee fairy door at the base of a tree (hence the difficulty if there is accumulated snow on the ground, be careful with leaf buildup too!). Each door is labeled with a place in fairyland — write down the first letter of each of the two main words. Stage 1 will give you two letters, one of which is the first letter to the combination of the final cache; stage 2 will give you two letters, one of which is the second letter to the combination of the final cache; and so on and so forth.Â
Once you've collected all the possible letters, you will be able to make more than one word, so I have a riddle for you to help you choose the correct word:Â What do fairies get after playing out in the woods all day?
After you've solved the riddle, proceed to stage 6, where you'll need to find and unlock the cache there (with the answer to the riddle). Please sign the logbook and take a little treasure... and leave something if you have.
I hope you have fun and enjoy a magical little hike on these beautiful, new trails that are covered with our state flower, the mountain laurel.
