By the time you find this cache, Ocho the trackable may be long gone. One step closer, I hope, to Home.
Let me back up this story from the beggining. I first discovered Ocho 5 hours south east of here. On it was a picture of a dog and a desire to see its favorite team, the Calgary Flames at there home in Alberta Canada. But when I looked into the log, I realized that Ocho had already made it to the hockey game well over 11 years ago! The trackable said that after the game it wanted to head back home to Ontario. But that is not what happened.
Instead, it would start to go back east only to be brought back west again by someone trying to get him closer to the Calgary Flames. I'm am not the owner off this trackable but I did note that the goal was not updated, meaning that you would have to look into the log to realize it had already reached its destination and was headed home. And apparently not everyone did. So for year after year it moved from West to East to West again, Ocho logged almost 30,000 miles! It criss crossed the continent in a tug of war between those who were trying to take Ocho home to Ontario and those who were unknowingly still following the original goal to get him to Calgary.
This was my first trackable but more than that I found it just before I was about to take a once in a year trip to a watch some Hockey in Rochester, just across Lake Ontario from Ocho's home. But would I bring it up to Rochester just to have someone bring back to Calgary and continue Ochos long journey forever?! So I stashed a note to the trackable explaining the situation and I'm really curious to find out if this may work? Have fun caching and good luck Ocho!
