Originally staked by P.F. Horton and H.M. Billings in 1907 this mine has produced tons of zinc (plus some lead and silver) off and on over the years. This portal is where most of the ore mined up in the mountain was brought out for processing. There's many levels up above, connected by chutes and an elevator (in ruins) deep in the mine. The mine breathes, air goes in during the morning and in the afternoon, cool air comes out. Cache is placed ountside the mine entrance, no need to enter the portal, the toughest part will be finding the correct road up to the cache.
Yellow gates recently installed on HB mine access roads preventing entry by vehicle or bike. It's about a 500 meter walk from the gate to the ruins and a little furthur up to the cache/adit.
