Campo Lindo

  Deves-te estar a perguntar o porquê desta cache. Então, com esta cache não pretendo mostrar nenhum monumento nem nenhum local fora do comum, apenas pretendo dar a conhecer um local pouco conhecido da nossa cidade: o Campo Lindo, em Paranhos, o local onde eu cresci.

  Cresci neste largo e arredores desde pequeno. Aqui morava a minha bisavó e aqui passei muito tempo com ela enquanto os meus pais trabalhavam. Um local bastante calmo, apesar de se encontrar no centro da cidade do Porto. Os moradores são sempre bastantes simpáticos e acolhedores e a área é bastante agradável, tem bons espaços públicos.

  Aqui no largo é quase tudo controlado pela família Salgueiro, desde o café, passando pela funerária e acabando na florista. Em tempos tudo isto era uma quinta até à zona da Arca d'Água, tudo da família, mas entretanto foi vendida à câmara, mas os negócios por cá permaneceram.

  Eu adoro o local onde cresci e que passo cá muito tempo da minha vida. E vocês, estão prontos para o conhecer?

You must be wondering why this cache. So, with this cache I don't intend to show any monument or any place out of the ordinary, I just intend to make known a little-known place in our city: Campo Lindo, in Paranhos, the place where I grew up.

 I grew up in this square and its surroundings since I was little. My great-grandmother lived here and I spent a lot of time with her here while my parents worked. A very calm place, despite being located in the center of Porto. The residents are always very friendly and welcoming and the area is very pleasant, with good public spaces.

 Here in the square, almost everything is controlled by the Salgueiro family, from the cafe, to the funeral home and ending with the flower shop. Once upon a time, all of this was a farm up to the Arca d'Água region, all owned by the family, but in the meantime it was sold to the city council, but the businesses here remained.

I love the place where I grew up and spend a lot of my life here. And you, are you ready to meet him?

História 

  A freguesia era constituída por aldeias e lugares, tendo um carácter marcadamente rural, onde se podiam encontrar campos, hortas, pomares, jardins, quintas e casas de lavoura.

  Nos inícios do século XX uma grande parte da população da freguesia ainda se dedicava à agricultura, uma vez que os terrenos eram férteis e abundantes em água. Testemunho disso, são os inúmeros espaços verdes e jardins, um pouco espalhados por toda a freguesia, como é o caso do Largo de Campo Lindo, o Jardim de Arca D’Água, entre outros.

 History

  The parish was made up of villages and places, having a distinctly rural character, where one could find fields, vegetable gardens, orchards, gardens, farms and farmhouses.

  At the beginning of the 20th century, a large part of the parish's population was still dedicated to agriculture, since the land was fertile and abundant in water. Testimony to this are the countless green spaces and gardens, spread throughout the parish, such as Largo de Campo Lindo, Jardim de Arca D’Água, among others.
