Alla ricerca del GIFF perduto
Com’è noto, con l'avvicinarsi del 25° anniversario dalla nascita del Geocaching, il quartier generale di Seattle ha stabilito che l’amato “Geocaching International Film Festival” si prenderà una breve pausa nel 2024 in modo da, cito testualmente, “poter stendere di nuovo il tappeto rosso nel 2025 per un anno speciale di festeggiamenti, dando alla comunità tutto il tempo per sognare i tuoi prossimi video!” ...ma non hanno fatto i conti con la comunità GC veronese!
Eccoci quindi a proporvi questo event per rivedere in una carrellata i filmati dei soli finalisti vincitori dei GIFF passati, al termine della quale eleggeremo il “best of de noaltri”, senza alcuna velleità di primato, ma con la voglia di stare bene in compagnia.
Come sempre, l’occasione sarà letteralmente ghiotta per ritrovarsi in amicizia, chiacchierare, raccontarci spassosi aneddoti, sorprendenti avventure e, soprattutto per i nuovi del gioco, conoscere altri giocatori (in carne e ossa, non virtuali), chiedere consigli e ottenere suggerimenti per fare esperienza.

Al termine del GIFF, per tutti quelli che lo desiderano, si potrà poi proseguire la serata con il cosiddetto “terzo tempo” che si terrà sempre nella stessa location con paella tradizionale di sola carne e sangria come se piovesse: prezzo per persona € 20.
Chi volesse essere presente è pregato di segnalare al più presto la propria adesione precisando nel "will attend" il numero dei partecipanti alla cena, ma visto il periodo e la necessità di organizzare sala e cena, raccomandiamo di farci avere le vostre conferme quanto prima, ma entro e non oltre Domenica 17.11!
Infine, si dice in giro che nell’arco della giornata potrebbero venir pubblicate delle nuove cache, ma tanto voi verrete lo stesso anche solo per stare in buona compagnia, vero!?!

Informazioni utili per l’arrivo a Verona
Essendo una giornata di grande afflusso al centro città, i Mercatini di Natale saranno infatti aperti nella nuova location della vicina Via Pallone dal 16 Novembre al 26 Dicembre https://www.nataleinpiazza.it/, vi consigliamo di arrivare a Verona in mattinata e, oltre agli stalli a pagamento, per i principali parcheggi fate riferimento agli appositi waypoint con le rispettive specifiche, dai quali non avrete comunque difficoltà a raggiungere il Centro Storico.

Searching for the lost GIFF
As is well known, with the 25th anniversary of Geocaching approaching, the Seattle headquarters has decided that the beloved “Geocaching International Film Festival” will take a short break in 2024 in order to, I quote, “roll out the red carpet again in 2025 for a special year of celebrations, giving the community plenty of time to dream about your next videos!” ...but they didn’t count on the Veronese GC community!
So here we are, offering you this event to review in a roundup the videos of the finalists who won past GIFFs, at the end of which we will elect the “best of for us”, without any ambition of primacy, but with the desire to have a good time together.
As always, the opportunity will be literally tempting to meet up with friends, chat, tell each other funny anecdotes, surprising adventures and, especially for those new to the game, meet other players (real, not virtual), ask for advice and get tips to gain experience.
We will meet at the indicated coordinates, with the possibility of internal parking, where we will be hosted by the “VERONA FabLab”, a place where ideas take shape, where curious minds can experiment, learn and share. https://www.veronafablab.it/
At the end of the GIFF, for all those who wish, the evening can continue with the so-called “third half” which will always be held in the same location with traditional paella with only meat and sangria as if it were raining cats and dogs: price per person € 20.
Anyone who would like to be present is asked to indicate their participation as soon as possible by specifying in the “will attend” the number of participants at the dinner, but given the period and the need to organize the room and dinner the best possible, we recommend to let us know your confirmations as soon as possible, but no later than Sunday 17.11!
Finally, it is said that during the day new caches could be published, but you will come anyway even just to be in good company, isn’t it so!?!

Useful information for arriving in Verona
Since it is a day of great influx to the city center, the Christmas Markets will be open in the new location of the nearby Via Pallone from November 16th to December 26th https://www.nataleinpiazza.it/, we recommend arriving in Verona in the morning and, in addition to the paid parking spaces, for the main parking lots refer to the appropriate waypoints with the respective specifications, from which you will have no difficulty reaching the historic town center.
