The Southernmost Point of Bali Island is located at Melasti Beach - a stunning 1km stretch of white sand nestled beneath massive limestone cliffs.
Once a secluded hidden gem, Melasti has undergone significant development transforming it into one of the most accessible swimming points in Uluwatu, while still preserving its natural beauty and charm.
There are a bunch of local warungs, as well as full-scale beach club, with infinity pool and DJ parties. The beach is well equipped with various amenities, including toilets, showers and sunbed rentals.
Near the parking area you will also find permanently docked wooden ship. No one really knows why it’s there, but it adds a unique touch to the surroundings.
Entrance Fee: 10,000 IDR
Parking Charge: 2,000 IDR Scooter / 5,000 IDR Car
Fun Fact! Melasti Beach is named after the Melasti ceremony - a Balinese purification ritual held annually, 3 days before Nyepi. During the ceremony, the Balinese bring statues of gods to this beach for purification in the sea, symbolizing the cleansing of the body and the Earth from bad spirits.
