Meet and greet outside Edinburgh railway station (better known as Waverley) on Thursday, 21st November 2024 at 3.30pm to 4.15pm
All are invited to meet the host and other friendly cachers at the Wellington statue, opposite the mainline railway station for Edinburgh. At the event we will chat about all things geocaching (and trains if need be). Feel free to exchange Trackables especially any that wishes to travel south as I will later in the day take the train bound for London.
The first railway station on this site opened on the 22nd June 1846 as North Bridge. The line was built from Haymarket which was the original terminus at Edinburgh. In 1866 the new station building opened and it was renamed as Edinburgh Waverley. Exactly 100 years later British Rail dropped the Waverley, officially branding it as Edinburgh station. However, most still call this station as Edinburgh Waverley.
