It was the first and only one of its kind in Iceland. Also nearby is Landspítali Univerisity Hospital of Iceland, the main hospital of Iceland and the main maternity ward to this day.
There is a sculpture called "Járnsmiðurinn" or The Blacksmith by Ásmundur Sveinsson made in 1936. - The art museum in Reykjavík Ásmundarsafn is very much worth visiting.
The container is a small round plastic container with a screwed on lid. We put inside a log, smal pencil and a few treasures.
It is easy to get to, bus stop near by and a 10 min walk to downtown Reykjavík.
