The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by
many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of
paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have
‘walked’ before
us.
There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities
across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The
cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries,
tombstones and local lore.
There are 125 interments at this still-active site, with dates of death ranging from 1877 (purportedly -- but almost every burial here is from the 1900s onwards) to 2021. Members of the Carter, Jackson, Millegan, Prewitt, Toungate, and Walden families, among others, have been laid to rest here.
You will have to enter the grounds to make the find here, but you won't have to go far. Grounds as of the time of placement are in good shape. Be careful of traffic when backing out! At any rate, as always, any refinements to the
