Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates, but can be found within 2 miles.

The best time for this hike would be during the winter season after the rains, but it can be done anytime if you can handle the heat and take enough water. I had some general idea about the cache location based on satellite images and since it got cooler I made the hike and done some exploration. I found there a really nice specimen of juniper with a cool cavity in the middle that was just asking: "Put the cache inside me, please!". So I did. Therefore, once you get close to GZ, locating the cache should not be a problem. I have passed many vista points on my way in, and there are more near the GZ. Enjoy!

Since finding the cache should be fun, below are few photos I took on my way there and back in no particular order. Those could serve as a checker on your journey.

To find this cache you will need the cartridge, "day1976's Open Source Reverse Wherigo", created by Aussie day1976. It could be considered a variation to the locally well known RWIG cartridge by -Waldmeister-. The difference is that this RWIG cartridge does not show the distance to the cache, but the bearing to the cache instead. For those not familiar with this cartridge I would strongly recommend to try the easy hide OSRW in a tree (GCAYEDB) first.

Feed these two codes into the cartridge:

first code: 447ka

second code: 5jhsj

Keep in mind that in order to find this hide you will need to follow the proper trail rather than to walk in a straight line. There is no need for bushwhacking. GZ is only ~100' from the trail and the terrain there could be rated 2.0. 3.0 is for certain sections of the trail on your way there. Nonetheless, you are facing several miles hike; from obvious reasons I am not listing the exact distance, but according to my other device I have burned almost 1,700 calories while making the hide.

Please bring your own writing stick and sign the log, there is nothing else inside since it might become lonely soon.

Congratulations to RS Arizona on FTF!
