There is no physical SideTracked cache at East Grinstead but there will be a geocaching event on Monday, 25th November 2024 at 5pm to 6pm
All are invited to an event held opposite the two East Grinstead stations to chat about all things geocaching and maybe trains. Meet inside the coffee shop, adjacent to the large supermarket on the former goods yard. Plenty of car parking at the supermarket, please check the restrictions should it applies. There regular trains from Oxted and London. Feel free to exchange Trackables too.
East Grinstead has seen many changes to the railway scene since the first line and station opened in 1855. The present mainline station is the fourth building, built recently in 2012. It is situated on the site of the low level station - the Oxted to Lewes line. The high level station served the Three Bridges to Tunbridge Wells line - that shut in 1967 and since demolished. In 2013 the Bluebell Railway opened their East Grinstead station re-linking the track to the mainline.

About SideTracked Caches
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too.
