This is the first of hopefully many caches that I hide. Since the beginning of the year, every Wednesday I go out into the neighbouring area and go searching for caches. It's a been a great opportunity to see small parks and other hidden away gems of Vancouver. And also moss.
This park hosts a wide variety of activties including tennis, ultimate, physical education activites, scientific experiments, and just a quiet place to retreat during study breaks. McBride parks is now split by a closed off street with picnic benches lined with London Plane Trees but there are other trees in the area including Western Red Cedars, Lawson Cypress, Common Horsechestnut, and Japanese Maple.
Our geocache isn't visible right away but some gentle uncovering and a keen eye should suffice.
Special Note: As of April 16, 2025 we moved the cache a foot from it's former location making it much more secure but trickier to get to — either tree climbing or a tall friend is required. We've adjusted the difficult, terrain, and attributes to reflect this.
