WSGA PUGET SOUND HOLIDAY PARTY!
Date: Saturday, December 28th
Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Place: William C. Warren Building
Veterans Memorial Park
405 E Street NE, Auburn
After going missing for the last four years, it's time to end our year with a party again! Put on your party hats one more time and join us for our last big event of 2024—the WSGA Puget Sound Holiday Party. Members and non-members alike are welcome. This is a family event, so bring the kids (we know they never get tired of gifts!).
Activities:
This event will have a Chinese Auction, two prize drawings, and a gift exchange.
As always, there will be an area for trackable trading and the potluck!
Theme: This year's theme will be an Evergreen Christmas. Feel free to theme your potluck dish; if you like, you could even dress the part! Back by popular demand again this year, we will have a new trivia game for all to play!
Schedule:
Set-up starts at 1 PM. Come early, help us decorate, set up the tables and chairs, and help with the raffle & auction stations.
The event runs from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Potluck Dinner (2:00 to 3:00 PM), followed by General Announcements, WSGA members drawing, early bird drawing, and gift exchange.
After the event, your assistance in cleaning up is always appreciated. We have the hall until 5 PM.
If you go caching before the event and the dish you bring for the potluck is a crock pot or needs to be refrigerated, feel free to drop it off at the hall anytime after 1 PM.
Trivia Game: Back by popular demand again this year, we will have an all-new geo-trivia game for all to play, with prizes for the winning table.
Chinese Auction: What is a Chinese Auction, you may ask? The difference between a raffle and a Chinese auction is this: in a raffle, there is one hat, and the winners pick from multiple prizes once their number is called. In a Chinese auction, there are just a few prizes, but each prize gets its own hat. For our Chinese auction, each person will get one ticket to drop into one hat at the welcome table when they come in. You will also be able to purchase additional tickets for a nominal fee. If there are any, profits will be used by the Puget Sound Chapter to cover the event's costs.
Gift Exchange: Instead of a gift raffle, we'll do the traditional gift exchange; here's how it works. Bring one wrapped gift (worth about $10) to exchange for each person who would like to receive one. Gifts that fit the geocaching lifestyle are the most appreciated. To expedite the gift exchange, we'll have a drawing for the gifts and keep what we get. If you want to trade with someone afterward, you're on your own.
The Early Bird Drawing: Post your will attend before midnight on December 20th, and your name will be entered into the drawing for the early bird prize. Please note the number of folks you will be bringing in your log, which will determine the number of entries you will receive for this drawing.
The WSGA Members Drawing: Bring your current 2024 or 2025 WSGA badge to the event; show it at the welcome table to be entered into a drawing for an extra special gift as a thank you for supporting WSGA. If you haven't renewed for 2025, you will be able to at the event. If you're not a WSGA member, we encourage you to support club-sponsored events like this by signing up online or in person for a WSGA event. Please note that you must have your 2024 or 2025 badge with you, or you must sign up at this event to be in this drawing.
Potluck / Food List:
This is a potluck event; please bring a dish to share. Below is a food list, including who is bringing what, but please don't be limited to the list below. They are just ideas; feel free to bring what you want, even better if it is holiday-themed. There is a kitchen in the hall and a refrigerator for our use; bring a crock pot if you like. Please mention what you will bring in your will-attend log, and we'll add it to the list.
