Welcome to the top of Little Mount Washington. This is a wonderful spot for a beautiful view all year round, especially during leaf peeping season. Kids, dogs and adults alike will enjoy just hanging out up here for a bit. Parking is at the top of Miller Pond Road.
This is an invigorating but not too difficult hike. Great for kids, I'd say about 6 and up that are used to hiking. Younger kids that are great hikers would do fine too. It is about 3.5 miles up and back with some flat runs as well as not too long spots of incline. There's lots of mud puddles on the way up that are easy to make your way around, but my kids (and I imagine my future dog) love to go right through them when the weather is good. You'll pass a warming hut, an old mill site and a pretty lake spot on your way up. We always get the trail up on the All Trails app because the way to the peak isn't all that well marked or intuitive. There are a couple maps posted but really you have to know the way or use the app.
Although this view is already gorgeous on it's own, many would argue it's even better from higher up. Tree climbing is required to log this cache and I hope to see those signatures on the log. This cache was placed by my 9 year old so it isn't too wild but I'm marking it a 3.5 difficulty due to the climbing aspect.
The container is an old cigar tube placed in some camo and tied to a branch. There are some items to trade and pencil.
Have fun!
Congratulations 51MarLin on first to find 🌲 👏
