Geocache Description:

I queried several geocachers at events throughout the year and found that holding a class on solving Mystery Caches was of interest. I have been to a few events on this topic and have experience solving Mystery Caches.

The location for this event is the West Biloxi Public Library. The sign out front reads: WILLIAM H. RICH CENTER - CITY of BILOXI. This is a free class and open to the public.

I attended several of these classes with the Georgia Geocaching Association (GGA) which went from basic puzzle solving to advanced puzzle solving. Today's class will be basic and describe how to start out solving a Mystery Cache. I expect that this may turn into a group led class as most cachers will be able to contribute to the discussion. If you find this text see me before the class starts.

I have several PDF documents on the topic - see below. Each document is a two hour class. I did not create these documents and got them through the GGA. We will be using the Intro To Puzzling - Basic Puzzle Techniques document for this class. At the end of the presentation we can talk about some advanced techniques (time permitting).

Consider bringing a notepad and writing instrument.

  • Basic Codes and One Cipher
  • Solving Puzzles With Ciphers
  • Solving Puzzles with Pictures
  • Solving Puzzles Using Maps!
  • Let's Get Physical!
