Mark your calendar for Wednesday, December 31st for our annual geocaching get together. We had quite a crowd last year and I am anticipating another well attended event this year. We all know that some of the goals were a bit over the top and I personally can't wait to see how they all came out.
What to expect: If just getting together with your fellow geocachers isn't enough, what we do at this event is write down a goal for the following year, but here is the catch, we then put our goals in the hat and draw one out. If you draw your own goal out it goes back in and you draw another. The goal each of us draws out then becomes our own geocaching goal for 2026.
At last years' event, most of us made a geo-resolution for 2025, so the big question is, did you accomplish your goal that was set for you? In your will attend log, you can let everyone know what your goal was and if you made it or not. We kind of make a big deal over this but to be fair, regardless if you made your goal or not, the important part of this event is the fellowship it brings to all of us.
If you can't remember your goal, you probably didn't make it, but just to be sure you can check last years event (GCAZNKD) where in your attended log, it will show what it is. Some of you last year did not put a goal in, and that's OK, no one is required to, but it can be fun.
This years' event will again be located at the Hy-Vee cafeteria area where food & drink are available. As with any event, purchase of food or drink is not a requirement of attending. Participation in the goal making process is also not a requirement of attending, but as I said earlier, it can be fun. Also not a requirement is the purchase of food or drink but both will be available.
