Geocache Description:

Where: Keene Memorial Library East Meeting Room
Date: Mon Dec 29th
Time: 10am-12pm
Food & drinks are allowed. You can bring soda, snacks, breakfast or lunch for yourselves or to share.

This is your opportunity to unload those wonderful gifts you got for Christmas or your birthday but already have 5 of, you love but simply don't think you'll actually find time to use, or perhaps you dislike the color because it seriously clashes with your couch.

If you choose to participate in the exchange (not required, but encouraged), please bring a wrapped white elephant gift. It should be something fun, silly, or surprisingly-useful-yet-slightly-impractical that sparks joy or laughter with a value of approximately $15-20 or so. These do NOT need to be caching-related items, so go ahead & bring those adorable gift candles, fun holiday kitchen towels, figurines, fancy ornaments, puzzles you'll never open, light-up home decor, quality homemade items you picked up at that popup craft fair last year & forgot about, etc. Re-gifting is perfectly fine (see below)—just ensure it's wrapped nicely & in good condition (new or nearly new).

A WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT? WHAT'S THAT??
What to bring:

🎁 Family-Friendly Funny/Gag Gifts: Quirky mugs, novelty socks, silly kitchen gadgets (like a tiny waffle maker), or humorous blankets (like a tortilla blanket).
🎁Useful but Silly: Full-sized, unopened bath products, cozy blankets with ears & paw footies, holiday-themed dishtowels shaped like gnomes, meowing cat chip clips, goofy-sayings calendars, or hilarious card/board games.
🎁Gently Used Items: Anything you'd be happy to receive yourself, like a nice book, or an unused candle.
🎁Fun, surprisingly useful items: A cool gadget you have a duplicate of or don't need, a sparkly art set, or even a gift card to an escape room.
🎁Nice, lovely, or sweet gifts: Cute decor, plush/stuffies, gourmet snacks (fresh, NOT expired), or fancy boxed sets.

WAIT, WE CAN RE-GIFT IF WE WANT INSTEAD OF GOING OUT & BUYING SOMETHING??
Yes, that's correct...you can!

🎁 Re-gifting etiquette: Actually, re-gifting is a core part of the fun & spirit of a white elephant gift exchange. Well-meaning & "great for most anyone but somehow doesn't suit you" Christmas presents are perfect.
🎁Check the condition: Ensure it's still in original packaging/tags or in excellent, clean condition. Please don't bring broken, faded, incomplete or trashed items.
🎁Avoid personal items: Don't re-gift things that were clearly handmade for you or swag from past events. We're pretty sure that sweater your mom made for you with your name knit into it should remain yours. Now, if the swag is a bowling pin event TB that keeps showing up year after year, a traveling trackable vacuum cleaner, or a weird, red, horseshoe shelf set that's been circulating for 6 years, just please make sure to include an actual gift as well.

A special thank you to bhjalarson for letting us adopt this after the Omaholiday Event to keep it from disappearing into oblivion forever! Our apologies this lands on a weekday. We adopted this the max 14 days out from the 28th, & our venue isn't open Sundays.
