On May 24, 2000, the very first geocache outside the United States was placed — in Canada. This marked the beginning of the global expansion of geocaching, which had only started a few weeks earlier in the U.S. after the removal of Selective Availability on GPS signals (May 2, 2000). So while May 2 is considered the "birthday" of geocaching, May 24 is celebrated by some as the start of international geocaching.
We would like to celebrate this day with a picnic in Kūdrų Parkas! Bring some food and drinx and a blanket, and share stories of geocaching around the world. The event is organized by a Swede and a Lithuanian, thus being international at its core.
In case of rain, the event will be relocated to a nearby place with a roof. (Check the log for updates.)
