Community Celebrations Event
25 years of Geocaching
"Nou gaan ons Braai" isn’t just a meal – in Namibia it’s a lifestyle.
For our family, braais on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are completely normal. Whether it’s a weekend away with family, friends and loved ones, a quick camping trip, or a longer safari adventure, you’ll always find us gathered around a fire, sharing stories, laughter, and memories under the stars.
We keep things simple but functional: a tent, a chair, a solid braai grid, reliable tongs, a shady tree or rock, and of course – the essentials – wood, a delicious “chop,” and firelighters.
Most important part will be getting together a few more "crazy" friends, like the majority people think we are for using muli-million dollar satellite's to find logs within tupperware containers wherever we go.
I’m excited to welcome both old and new Geocachers from Namibia and beyond. I’d love to hear your funniest braai stories, Geocaching adventures, and tips for newbies... like "rather carry 3 pens when climbing up a mountain to save yourself the effort and time doing it again, unless you really love a fitness challenge."
And for our international Geocaching friends it will be an absolute pleasure to have some of you here, this will be a chance to experience a true "Nou gaan ons braai" Namibian style braai in the heart of nature, as we celebrate 25 years of Geocaching.
