Welcome to Pathfinder Park! 🛬
Located near the south entrance of Renton Municipal Airport, this park commemorates Clayton Scott, one of the region's most renowned aviators. To honor his contributions to aviation and the aerospace industry, the airport was renamed Clayton Scott Field on his 100th birthday, July 15, 2005. You can learn more about Clayton "Scotty" Scott's legacy here.
At the posted coordinates, you'll find "Pathfinder," a 17-foot-tall sculpture by Bill Jepson. Inspired by a 1959 photograph of Clayton Scott admiring a guidepost at Nairobi Airport in Kenya, this artwork symbolizes distant travel destinations and the interconnectedness of global aviation.
