Blue Switch Day!
"Blue Switch Day," celebrated on May 2nd, marks the day in 2000 when the
U.S. government lifted the Selective Availability restriction on GPS technology,
making accurate GPS accessible to everyone and paving the way for geocaching.
Geocaching HQ often releases a new souvenir to commemorate the day.Â
Geocachers can earn the souvenir by finding geocaches, attending events,
or completing Adventure Labs during the Blue Switch Day period.Â
