Geocache Description:

Note: This cache is located on OU/Meadowbrook grounds.  The grounds in general are open to the public.  Some of the locations may not be accessed if an event it happening.

Who needs soap operas when there's Greek Mythology to delve into.  Keep in mind you may have heard/read a different version of the story for some of the characters I'll be introducing. The following is my version of what I've gleaned to suit my caching needs.

Let's start with the big man himself, Zeus!  In ancient Greek mythology he is the god of the sky and more.  He had a tendancy to award / honor / commemorate certain individuals or creatures by placing them in the heavens as a constellation.  What a way to be remembered!  Somewhere on this earth we'll be able to see them, up in the heavens, when it's dark.  I'll be highlighting 5 constellations that have a direct or indirect connection to Zeus.

 Centaurus

Half-brother of Zeus, Chiron the centaur, was a wise teacher and mentor of Greek heroes.

 Hercules

Son of Zeus.  He's known for the 12 Labors and Parerga that he performed and many more adventures.

 Lepus

Zeus's huntsman, Orion, loved to hunt hares and now has his own in the sky.

 Pegasus

This winged horse had many adventures with Bellerophon and later served Zeus by carrying his Thunderbolts.

 Taurus

Zeus sent a bull to abduct the beautiful Phoenician princess, Europa.

Now that I've introduced all the characters for this adventure - lets get down to finding this multi cache.

There's plenty of parking available at 1st stage.  You'll need to look at the map first.  Find the right Mount Olympus with the 14 reference waypoints.

There are several locations in the Milky Way Galaxy named 'Mount Olympus'.  These mountains are found in Alberta, Antartica, California, Colorado, Cyprus, Greece, Hawaii, Kentucky, Mars (yes, even on Mars), Tasmania, Turkey, Utah, Vermont, and Washington!

Once you've found the correct location on the map, study and decide which constellation is represented by the reference waypoints on 'Mount Olympus' and match it up with one of the 5 constellations pictured above.  Use the associated waypoint of your constellation choice and go there before applying the projection.  Once you arrive at 2nd stage it will become clear if you chose correctly.  Now use the projection to head to the final 3rd stage.

If, by chance, you pick the wrong constellation and go to its given coordinates, there's still something interesting to see at the location, but you will not be able to find the cache.

Make sure to bring something to sign the log and maybe a TOTT to extract.  Please replace as found.  The log holder is NOT swag and needs to stay in 'Mount Olympus'.
