Signal was visiting the area and wanted to do some lite reading. So he stopped at this wonderful library in Ada, Michigan. While here he couldn't help himself and left a geocache for you to find. The posted coordinates take you to the front door of the Amy Van Andel Library. A library within the Kent District Library System. Unfortunately, you can only access the geocache during "normal business hours". However, there are many days and times available. Please see the KDL website (https://kdl.org/locations/ada/) for the most current. NOTE: as of 6/6/25, the hours were:
Monday 9:30am - 8:00pm
Tuesday 9:30am - 5:00pm
Wednesday 9:30am - 5:00pm
Thursday 12:00pm - 8:00pm
Friday 9:30am - 5:00pm
Saturday 9:30am - 1:30pm
Sunday Closed
Now, once you arrive at the library, during hours of operation, enter the front door. There is a lovely courtyard in front of you that offers a very quiet place to get some sunshine and read a book. However, the cache is not there. Continue to the left and arrive at the circulation desk. There, the friendly, cheerful and helpful librarians can fill you in on all of the wonder to behold in the library. After passing the desk, turn to your right. Follow this hallway to a point near the elevators. Feel free to check out the second floor, but I think you'll be able to spot the object of your affection before you get to the elevator.
Please note: This cache does require cash to access! Not much, only "two bits". Once you gain access to the cache location look near the top, you will find a large white tube. To the left is an opening and your "two bits" should be returned. During testing, it worked 99% of the time! However, if your coin is not returned do not despair. The cache will be checked regularly, and any coins not returned to their rightful owner will be donated to a very worthy charity.
