For many years a song known as the "Most Mysterious Song on the Internet" (or TMS for short) baffled Internet detectives and sleuths. It had been first recorded from a German radio station in 1984 but gained more traction as a "mysterious song" in the late 2000's before going in viral in 2019 following a Rolling Stone Magazine article about it. The picture below was long associated with the song.

It was long thought to be named "Like the Wind" or "Blind the Wind" due to the assumed lyrics from the only recording of the song. Years later a higher quality version was found, but still the song was unidentified and continued to stump Internet users. Some thought the song was a hoax. Others theorized it was demo song for an obscure, short-lived band, and therefore unlikely to ever be found. Despite obstacles, the search for the song pressed on.
Earlier this week the song was finally identified after 40 years. When contacted, members of the band (who had been completely unaware of the search) confirmed the news. The band, which broke up in 1985, reunited to do a live acoustic recording of it at a German radio station after the name of the song was officially released to the public.
It was one of the best endings that fans of this song and story could have hoped for after all of these years. As someone who has followed "lost wave" searches and discoveries for a bit of time now, the news of this song's discovery was quite interesting to me. I wanted to share this news with the geocaching community in the form of a straightforward mystery cache.
