In Germany there is a letterbox suitable for children, in whose listing a story about an old pirate and his cat Karlo with a treasure on the run from other pirates is written down. The pirate and his cat go their separate ways to divert the other pirates away from the treasure and Karlo the cat finds refuge with a middle-aged woman who lovingly looks after him until the pirate comes to collect him one day. At the end of the listing, the finders of the geocache are challenged to write a nice log text on how the story can be continued. As soon as there are a few nice individual logs, a continuation of this story is processed in another geocache.
After the experimental verification by a bribery attempt, the story now continues in the 4th part about the old pirate, Karlo the cat and the middle-aged woman:
The old pirate wasn't doing so well in the meantime. The protective spell with which he could transform himself into other people, which he had used to confuse the pursuing pirates, was losing its effect and was now draining his remaining strength. The treasure was hidden, his cat Karlo would be able to stay with the middle-aged woman and be well looked after, but he could feel the end approaching. He called the ship's doctor Livesey and asked him to take good care of his loved ones. The doctor was more than happy to take on this task. But when the rumor of a hidden treasure went around again, which the middle-aged woman knew about, he grabbed the middle-aged woman and abducted her to Malta as a protective measure. He affectionately called it "The Pirates of the Caribbean" although it was more of an "Escape to Malta". But he had actually started the rumor himself in order to lure the middle-aged woman he had grown fond of into the warmth during the cold season, where she would celebrate his birthday (GCAYYQN) with him.
What he didn't know, however, was that he was heading straight for the island where the old pirate and Karlo the cat had been shortly before, after years of reunion. The treasure map was torn and floating around in the sea, but a real pirate finds treasure without a map, doesn't he?
Karl Friedhelm Katermann (= Karlo the cat) and Trudi (= Karlo's fiancée) were looked after by the ship's electrician in their absence, who tried to break Towser's record for catching mice with the two cats. Not an easy task, but you need some "challenges" in life. Yes, dear maylander, this time you have to cover a good half of Jessie's distance to reach this letterbox too.
Dear Dr.Livesey, time will tell whether my story about Karlo the cat will make it to 28 series (caches) like Zatoichi. But for now, I'll spend my time with you on this great island and congratulate you on your 45th birthday with this cache!
With this cache I would like to thank Dr.Livesey (https://coord.info/GL1CAMXMM), maylander (https://coord.info/GL1B1B510) and Janacatlover (https://coord.info/GL1D3NT3R) for their individual log entries through which the story of Kater Karlo and Co. can be continued.
