Wynberg Park, formerly known as King Edward Park, is a park situated in the southern suburb of Wynberg, Cape Town. The park has a number of amenities including a children's playground, a duck pond, and multiple braai areas.
It was established by the Wynberg Mayor James Bisset, who obtained the land grant for it in the early 1890s. The park was opened in 1902. Prior to settlement in the area, it was the location of a large forest of indigenous Silvertrees.
The spring and source of the Krakeelwater River is located in the park and this is where Springfield Convent gets its name.
This cache requires no specialist equipment, unlike XXX Well Hung (GC450A5) also located in Wynberg Park where you will need either wings or a cherry picker.
The cache is located in a Stone Pine forest in a quieter part of the park bordering Springfield Convent and the Travato Link access to the M3. GZ is well away from the braai areas and is usually deserted.
For your own sanity and the fact that the cache location is nowhere near there - Please avoid the fence bordering Springfield Convent as there are motion sensors that trigger an alarm.
There are 3 red herrings at GZ to make things interesting when searching for this cache - see if you can find them too!
