DIVAČA NA TIRIH

Tako vas pozdravijo informacijske table, ki predstavljajo projekt Drugi tir, prav pred vodohranom, vodnim rezervoarjem za parne lokomotive. Zgrajen je bil v začetku 20. stoletja in je takrat predstavljal eno najpomembnejših infrastruktur v železniškem prometu, saj je bila njegova glavna funkcija zbiranje in shranjevanje vode za parne lokomotive. Te so po slovenskih tleh potovale od prvega vlaka leta 1846 do zadnje parne lokomotive na naših tleh leta 1978. Danes vodohran predstavlja tehnični spomenik velikega zgodovinskega pomena in priča o bogati zgodovini ter razvoju Divače.

This is how one is greeted on the information boards that represent the Second Track project, right in front of water storage facility (water reservoir for steam locomotives). It was built in the early 20th century and it represented one of the most important infrastuctures in railway transportation in Slovenija, since it's main function was to colect and store water for steam locomotives. Such locomotives were travelling round SLovenian territory since the first train in 1846, untill the last steam locomotive in 1978. Today, the water reservoir is a represents a great technical monument and testifies about rich history and development of Divača.
