National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day
Yep! Those ugly holiday sweaters actually have a day! The "ugly" sweater was created back in the 1950s, and were called Jingle Bell sweaters, as the Christmas holiday became commercialized. It wasn't until the 80s, that the "ugly sweater", became a real thing, when all those 50s sweaters made a reappearance. People started pulling out the "hand me down," or as many have said "grandmas ol' sweater," and now the ugly sweater has a day!
So fun last year, we'll do it again... Please join me on one of my last events in 2024... The uglier the Christmas sweater, the better, although optional. An earlier event during the day so that it's a little warmer out. A meet and greet at the covered gazebos from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. If you have any Christmas goodies to share, please feel free to bring them along.
