Geocache Description:

For the past 10 years I have hosted a Christmas BBQ event in the Whanganui area. I have now moved away from there but figured why not continue the tradition, so here's the new, and first "Waikato" version.

The event will be at Lake Ngaroto.

There is a BBQ available and it is a designated freedom camping spot for self contained vehicles.

Dogs are welcome but should be kept on a leash.

There are a number of caches around the lake if you haven't done them already. No promise's but there may even be a new cache for the day (if I get time to sort one)

This is a shared BBQ to celebrate christmas and all of the geocaching adventures over the past year and talk of next years adventures.

                                                                                             WHAT TO BRING:-

* food to share - something for the BBQ, salads, something sweet.

* drinks

* your own plates, bowls, cutlery, cups.

* a seat or maybe a picnic blanket.

** OPTIONAL** - for a little fun, bring a wrapped 'secret santa' present, of around $10 value. This can be placed in the present box when you arrive and will be given out after the BBQ. You are welcome to bring as many presents as you wish i.e one for each of the family/group members, just make sure to take out the same number of presents that you put in. Try to avoid anything that would melt in the hot sun, like chocolates.

As with past years I will make a little geocaching themed decoration for the Christmas tree for each geocacher who attends (one per geocaching name). Please ensure you log a will attend if you want one of these.

I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone for some Christmas cheer, and maybe meet a new geocacher or two. Everyone is welcome.
