The Kootenay Pirates have recently returned home from several geocaching adventures which took them into Alberta , Washington, Idaho, and the East Kootenays. They have taken some of their finest treasures and placed them in this cache, along with the usual tools (log book and pencil). The cache is hidden along an easy trail. Accuracy varied from good to terrible due to the trees in this area. The best route to this cache is to turn off Highway 3A at South Slocan Station Road - N49 27.294 W117 31.595 - and head down the road a short distance until you see a sign pointing you in the direction of the Slocan Pools.
UPDATE://////////////////////UPDATE: As of June 13, 2004 the cache has been moved and the coordinates changed. The new spot has a lot nicer views, is in a more open area (so reception should be a whole lot better), and even comes complete with a nice bench nearby where you can sit and write in the log book. If you have already found the cache we invite you to "find" it again at the new location.
