Il nome Nurri potrebbe derivare dall’insediamento originario del paese attorno al Nuraghe Sardajara. Il parco archeologico si estende su una superficie di circa 3.000 mq e comprende un centro servizi che offre un’esperienza multisensoriale: immagini, filmati, percorsi tattili e ricostruzioni plastiche e virtuali guidano i visitatori alla scoperta della vita nuragica. Il nuraghe, addossato agli edifici del moderno abitato, conserva i resti di due torri in basalto unite da una cortina muraria. Sebbene oggi siano visibili poche tracce, gli scavi condotti tra il 1996 e il 1997 hanno datato la struttura tra il Bronzo medio e il Bronzo finale (circa 1.300-1.000 a.C.).
The name Nurri likely derives from the village’s original settlement around the Nuraghe Sardajara. The archaeological park spans about 3,000 square meters and includes a visitor center featuring a multisensory tour. Images, videos, tactile paths, and both physical and virtual reconstructions immerse visitors in the daily life of the Nuragic era. The monument, adjacent to modern buildings, preserves the remains of two basalt towers connected by a wall. Although only sparse traces remain visible today, excavations conducted between 1996 and 1997 have dated the structure to the Middle and Final Bronze Age (around 1.300-1.000 BC).
