Il nuraghe Motti si trova nella parte alta di Gergei. L’importanza del sito è determinata dalla posizione panoramica da cui si controllava la valle sottostante e probabilmente anche le vie di accesso all’altopiano dove sorgeva il nuraghe di Santa Vittoria di Serri (a 350 metri in linea d’aria). L’area archeologica comprende residui di un villaggio abitato e di un nuraghe.
Il nuraghe è una struttura in pietra tipica della Sardegna, risalente all'età del bronzo. Ha forma tronco-conica o a torre, costruito con blocchi di pietra a secco senza malta. La sua funzione è ancora incerta, ma si pensa che servisse come luogo di culto, centro di potere o punto di difesa. I nuraghi sono spesso situati su colline o vicino a corsi d’acqua, da dove si potevano sorvegliare i territori circostanti, rappresentando una testimonianza della Civiltà Nuragica.

Nuraghe Motti is located in the upper part of Gergei. The importance of the site is determined by its panoramic position from which it controlled the valley below and probably also the access routes to the plateau where the nuraghe of Santa Vittoria di Serri stood (350 meters away as the crow flies). The archaeological area includes remnants of an inhabited village and a nuraghe
The nuraghe is a stone construction typical of Sardinia, dating from the Bronze Age. It has a truncated cone or tower shape, built with dry stone blocks without mortar. Its function is still uncertain, but it is thought to have served as a place of worship, a center of power or a point of defense. Nuraghi are often located on hills or near waterways, from where the surrounding territories could be surveyed, representing evidence of the Nuragic Civilization.
