Welcome to Duncan Memorial Park - known by locals as Duncan Woods. This beautiful piece of property is is approximately 40 acres of unspoiled virgin forest between Lake Forest Cemetery and Sheldon Road. This beautiful park includes numerous walking trails, as well as picnic tables near the parking area.
NORA's Fall 2024 Youth Geocaching Class called Come Cache With Me where participants learn about geocaching, find as many as we can then make and hide caches. Our second day of this class brought us to Coast Guard Park where we discovered an abandoned cache while we were traveling between known caches. We picked up the inactive one, cleaned it up (unfortunately, log was in too rough shape to be preserved but last legible log was in 2017) and brought it to Duncan Woods on Day 3 of the class.
This duct taped peanut butter jar shouldn't be too hard to find but it's definitely squirreled away!
