Geocache Description:

Welcome to the 29th Cache in the AGAAS series. A series of simple caches placed in the local parks, reserves and other places in the Ambarvale, Glen Alpine and Surrounds.\

The Billabong Parklands was a project first considered in 2018 and funded in 2019 through the Western Parkland City Liveability Program and supposedly inspired by the creeks and streams in Dharawal National Park. Funding for the project was from the local council, the NSW Government and the Australian Government, with a budget that massively blew out by more than double the original estimate!

The 4 hectare site was designed by Acardia Landscape Architecture, and in conjuction with its various pools, streams and spalsh parks, incorporated approximately 1000 trees.

For some strange reason, they decided to open the park in the middle of winter, June 2024, so up until now, has been not well patroned.

The cache is small and has no room for swaps and BYOP.

It does seem apparent that now that the weather is warm, parking can be a problem on weekends.
