Geocache Description:


SideTracked Newbury

Event: 11:30 until 13:00

Opened in 1847, 85km from Paddington, currrently 3 platforms, services electrified in 2018 for trains going east towards Reading and London, 1.2m passengers annually, once saw trains on the Didcot Newbury & Southampton Railway (closed in the 1960's).

An opportunity to grab a final SideTracked event in 2024 and on a day not in SideTracked week.

You'll find us somewhere in a pub in Newbury...  a railway-themed pub quiz is offered too. Feel free to join us for a few more jars in a few other pubs afterwards.
