The cache is not at the listed coordinates.
This rock is a nice feature for a hide. To make it interesting, I decided to estimate its size from the photograph because I did not think to measure it at the site.
So I estimated in feet at 6 long, 3½ wide, 3 high. I am sure these units are accurate to the inch. You can argue about the size once you find the rock, but it will do no good, because those are dimensions that will be used for the coordinate calculation and all accuracy in physical measurement of the rock has been thrown to the wind.
Similarly, I did not look at the rock closely to see what rock it is. But in this area of metamorphic rocks, this rock is likely schist with a density of 1.5 oz/in3. Once again, you can argue, but any geological identification will be thrown out of the discussion of this schist rock. (Once again, I am throwing to the wind my rule “Always have a geologist on the project.”)
To find the cache under the side of this rock you will need to do some calculations that assume more accuracy than I measured. As long as you satisfy the checker, you will find this cache. In fact, just being observant of the rocks while hiking this trail of caches and noting disparate distances between caches you might be able to find this cache. Circle to the left as you approach the ROCK!!! because it will save you a trip all the way around it.
