👣South Riding Mini Power Trail Series👣
Welcome to South Riding! I have placed a variety of geocaches along the WorldTrail Fitness Course, a 1.4 mile neighborhood exercise trail, and will be scattering a few others around our community. If you plan to take on the entire trail in one go, I recommend starting at the "Trail Start" waypoint, gathering clues needed to solve the Mystery while finding the other geocaches. Once you reach the last cache on the trail (2025), circle back to the starting point while completing the Adventure Lab to collect any clues or caches remaining. You should expect at least 18 caches to become available by Spring, to inlude a Multicache, a Letterbox Hybrid, a Wherigo, a Mystery or two, and the Adventure Lab.
Finding the Cache:
This cache is NOT located at the posted coordinates. You can find this cache using the Wherigo app with the cartridge you can download HERE. Like any Wherigo, download and run the cartridge to access the cache.
Rocks, such as the ones you see in this storm drainage basin, provide resistance to erosion of the surrounding ground. In the same way, resistors provide resistance to the flow of current in an electrical circuit. I've been wanting to experiment with resistor color bands as a puzzle technique in geocaching, so I've created the aforementioned Wherigo cartridge to assist in the solving of the coordinates. The puzzle really isn't difficult to solve, but there is another way to find the cache, mentioned in the cartridge. Whichever way you choose to solve, please be mindful of who's around while you seek, retrieve, and return the cache as found, as this trail is often populated by residents at almost any time of day—stealth is required!
Recommended parking and trailhead waypoints have been provided. A lot of people use this trail so be mindful of who's watching, seek, retrieve, and replace with stealth. Happy caching!
