Although this string of caches is still within the Beaver Meadows Recreation Area, they are not on the designated trail system. "Old RR Bed #01-#06, Northbound" and possibly beyond are on the geocaching app and your PC at home, but when you get out here you will see this is not a blazed or even a named trail. "Old RR Bed #01 and #02, Southbound" are also not on a blazed trail.
Some bushwacking should be expected, depending on what time of the year you do these. I placed this cache in November and the trail was quite clear. In the summer months this RR bed can be very overgrown with ferns, but in December this is very easy walking. I'm increasing the degree of difficulty because cache is off trail.
*** Please be sure to wear flourescent orange during hunting season. ***
I did notice this is a heavy hunted area. When you see orange ribbons and even white reflective tacks in the trees, this normally is a sign of hunters. I even found a hanging scent canister. It would probably be a good idea to stay out of Beaver Meadows during bear and deer season. These seasons are the week of and the week after Thanksgiving. Play it safe and let the hunters have their time in the woods.
*** For this year I will activate the cache after the season, but for future years be courteous and steer clear. ***
