Once you arrive at the posted coordinates the cache is only 185 feet away at a bearing of 198°.
You would expect it to be just a little cooler at the top...especially if the top is the top of Pike's Peek or even the top of Mount Davis, but *Mount Saint Claire? This is an offset cache that will require a little off-trail hiking that could be bad at certain times of the year. Depending on your parking choice, the main trails you are following will not be flat and will have some steep ups and downs that could be slippery depending on the season/conditions. A hiking stick might be helpful. Personally, I like to park near the communication tower at the top of the Boyce Garden area and start with a downward hike...which means I end with an uphill which isn't ideal, but so rewarding.
To get to the posted coordinates follow the old roads and trails. Once you arrive and figure out where to go for the final, start looking for an easier way in as one does exist. It could get bad during the high growth months, but it should still be doable if you find the path to the cache. After finding the cache, be sure to sign the log. This cache should not have swag left behind and only the occasional small travel bug might be able to fit in the container's container's container. Just sign the log and then replace the cache as you found it.
When placed the cache did contain a FTF prize of an unactivated trackable signal charm/necklace as well as a traveling travel bug.
