Who? Anyone who is a Geocacher, interested in becoming one, or even a muggle friend or family member.
What? Weekly RGV Geocaching Breakfast Meet & Greet *NOTE* purchase of food items is always optional however, fun and fellowship is a given.
Where? Country Omelette, 3420 N. 10th St., McAllen, TX 78501
When? FRIDAY, Dec. 6, 2024, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Why? Share stories, tips & tricks of the game, assist with solving mystery/puzzle caches and share/trade trackables & just have fun!
Let’s explore Geocaches near YOUR home GZ!
Do a Search in Geocaching using your HOME coordinate location, and set the following filters: **Note** This can be done on your phone or computer, but must be done in Geocaching.com (Message me in Geocaching if you need more help.)
- Set Distance at “5” miles
- Set Found Status to “All”
- Set Owner Status to “All”
- Set both Placed and Found Dates to “Any date”
- Set “Cache Status” to “Enabled caches”
- Leave all other options as is
- Click on the “Apply” green button to generate results
NEXT: Write down the following:
Total number of Geocaches within 5 miles of your GZ _____
Ex: Mine is 272
NEXT: Complete the following series of filter changes to get additional information about the geocaches near your home location.
- Change “Found Status” to “Found by me” and click “Apply”
How many have you found? ____
Ex: I’ve found 183
- Change “Found Status” back to “All”
Change Owner status to “Caches I own” and click “Apply”
Ex. I own 11
- Change Owner status back to “All”
Change Cache Status to “All” and click “Apply”
Did this change the total number of caches near your home location?
