Welcome to Yabbarin - 'place of great talk.'
Yabbarin is the first nations name for Pine Mountain. It is believed to be the intersection of three First Nations, and to be a source of food, materials and shelter, as well as a place of significant spiritual value.
There are information boards at this rest stop which tell about the geology as well as the flora and fauna of the area. Have a break while travelling along the Murray River Road and learn about the area. There is also an interactive puzzle with more information, and life sized cutouts of local animals that the children might enjoy. Just watch out for the giant lizard in the shelter. You can also study the mountain more closely through a pair of binoculars that are on site.
