Opened in 2008, the Stratvs winery is located in La Geria, very close to the Timanfaya National Park. It was built underground to preserve the original topography of the canyon and has a unique architectural design that fits in harmoniously with the environment. The winery offers guided tours to show the production techniques and elaboration of Stratvs wines.
The vineyards, as in the rest of the La Geria area, are protected by a thick layer of volcanic picón. This soil preserves the existing moisture in the lower layers, to ensure the necessary nutrition of the vines at all times.
These have been planted in circular holes with a depth between 1 and 3 meters. Aditionally they are protected by equally volcanic stone walls. In this way, the plants are protected from excessive sun, wind and all other elements that affect their survival and the growth of the grapes.
