"Driving Home for Christmas" ble utgitt av Chris Rea i 1986 som en del av albumet New Light Through Old Windows (1988). Den ble først utgitt som en B-side til singelen "Hello Friend". Låta ble gitt ut gjennom plateselskapet Magnet Records. Den har siden blitt en klassiker i julemusikkrepertoaret.
