Geocache Description:

CACHE IS NOT AT POSTED COORDINATES.  This is a letterbox hybrid, acting as a simple 3-stage multi. Please remember DO NOT REMOVE THE STAMP.

Hey, what could be more Dutch than a name like Van Raalte? Well, maybe this:

(FROM WIKIPEDIA)
In filmmaking and photography, the Dutch angle, also known as Dutch tiltcanted angle, or oblique angle, is a type of camera shot that involves setting the camera at an angle so that the shot is composed with vertical lines at an angle to the side of the frame, or so that the horizon line of the shot is not parallel with the bottom of the frame. This produces a viewpoint akin to tilting one's head to the side. In cinematography, the Dutch angle is one of many cinematic techniques often used to portray psychological uneasiness or tension in the subject being filmed.

Dutch angles are often static shots, but in a dynamic (moving) Dutch angle shot, the camera can pivot, pan, or track along the established diagonal axis for the shot.

In Hollywood's classic age, one filmmaker who used Dutch angles often was Alfred Hitchcock, whose early career included time at UFA studios in Germany; examples include Suspicion (1941), Notorious (1946), Strangers on a Train (1951) and The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956).

Dutch angles were used extensively in the 1960s Batman TV series and its 1966 film spin-off; each villain had his or her own angle, as they were "crooked."

This cache may be placed at an angle, for a Dutch Tilt effect. Does that produce any uneasiness or tension within you? If you see a rainbow, do you see the color Indigo?

To find this, proceed to the posted coordinates and start walking in a NW direction down the trail. Go about 90 to 100 steps. You should be at an intersection. Now turn to the N and go about 80 to 90 steps. You should be near a sign.

Next, take a picture of the nearby sign, using the Dutch Tilt effect. Save that for yourself, do NOT post in your log.

Afterwards, gather the following information to get the coordinates for the next stage:

        N 42° 46.ABC' W 086° 03.XYZ'

A = # of letters in the TOP LEFT thing you are not supposed to do here + 2
B = # of letters in the BOTTOM RIGHT thing you are not supposed to do here
C = # of letters in the TOP MIDDLE thing you are not supposed to do here - 1
X = # of letters in the TOP RIGHT thing you are not supposed to do here + 2
Y = # of letters in the BOTTOM LEFT thing you are not supposed to do here
Z = # of letters in the BOTTOM MIDDLE thing you are not supposed to do here, 3rd word

Checksum N:20  W:16

When you arrive at the calculated coordinates, you should see another sign. Take a picture of that one using a Dutch Tilt, but in the opposite direction from what you did before. Does that balance it out and make you feel normal again? Do you see anything Indigo?

Afterwards, gather the following information to get the coordinates for the final stage (consider both parts as one sign):

        N 42° 46.ABC' W 086° 03.XYZ'

A = # of letters in the 1st word of the 10th line
B = # of letters in the 2nd line
C = # of letters in the 1st word of the last line
X = # of letters in the 2nd word of the next-to-last line
Y = # of letters in the 4th line minus # of letters in the 2nd line
Z = # of letters in the 2nd line minus "LAND"

Checksum N:19  W:13

Good luck!

Note that there may be some water to avoid and possibly some poison ivy. It was not there when I placed the cache, but there is a way to get around it.
