The 2-mile stretch of Gilroy Hot Springs Road between the Hunting Hollow parking lot and the Coyote Creek trailhead is a beautiful walk or ride, but unfortunately that's not always what you want on top of a long hike. Unfortunately, it can't be avoided, since parking is not allowed anywhere on the road. At least you'll have a few new caches to stop for the next time you're walking or biking the two miles from the parking lot.
You're looking for a vintage Seek2FindMe cache that I'm re-hiding with permission. It lived a long life over on Kaiser-Aetna Road, so it feels appropriate to re-hide it in Coe. The cache is a camoed preform with many of its original "stars". I'm not sure if this is considered part of the park, but the cache is compliant with state park guidelines of 3' from the road. Watch out for rusty barbed wire!
Henry Coe SP is open 24/7, so the legal parking is also open 24/7, and so is the cache. Parking at Hunting Hollow requires a fee or a state parks pass. The terrain rating is for the hike or bike from the Hunting Hollow parking lot.
Happy hunting!
