The Pt Vernon beach is a great location to take a stroll along a narrow sandy beach, which runs for kilometres from Gatakers Bay to the Gables near Pialba. Behind the tree lined foreshore is a wide grassy area which the local Council maintains, that is great for walking the dog. There are off-leash dog areas here. Nearby are picnic tables, toilets and a popular coffee shop.
From this location you have great views of all the main Hervey Bay beaches, Woody Island and K'gari in the distance.
The Pt Vernon beach has many tidal rock pools, which are exposed at low tide, with snorkelling opportunities to see healthy reef, rocky ledges and marine life. The nearby boat ramp provides access for kayaking and fishing.
There is a paved pathway adjoining the Esplanade which extends from Urangan to Pt Vernon.
The cache is only a short walk off the paved path. You are seeking a well camouflaged small cache. Please be gentle with me.
