Cache Across Southern California 2025

Greetings film critics! Are you ready to explore Hollywood through the ages? Find and locate one of the roughly 40 CASC geocaches across all 10 Southern California counties. As you find geocaches, you may stamp your passport to track your progress and turn it in at the SoCal Spring Fling mega event on May 3rd, 2025 to redeem your film critic award.
How do I use the CASC Passport?
Use the stamp in each CASC geocache and stamp any of the 15 small movie tickets on the front page of the passport. At the bottom of each ticket, write the GC code of the geocache that corresponds to the stamp provided. Then on the reverse side, circle or highlight the caches you found from the list. Doing these steps will increase efficiency and decrease wait times at the CASC table at Spring Fling.
CASC Prize Redemption
To qualify for prize redemption at SoCal Spring Fling 2025, there are two award packages being offered: Silver and Gold. For the SILVER award you must find at least 6 CASC geocaches in 3 counties. To qualify for the GOLD award you must find at least 15 CASC geocaches in all 10 counties. Silver award includes a CASC 2025 completion e-badge for your geocaching profile, CASC sticker, and a small mystery prize. Gold award includes a complimentary special edition CASC 2025 geocoin + the silver award prizes. Only one prize package per qualifying account. Prize distribution will be on a first come first served basis.

Toy Story

Toy Story is a 1995 American animated comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. The first installment in the Toy Story franchise, it was the first entirely computer-animated feature film, as well as the first feature film from Pixar. The film was directed by John Lasseter and features the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Annie Potts, John Ratzenberger, Don Rickles, Wallace Shawn, and Jim Varney.
Taking place in a world where toys come to life when humans are not present, the plot of Toy Story focuses on the relationship between an old-fashioned pullstring cowboy doll named Woody and a modern space cadet action figure, Buzz Lightyear, as Woody develops jealousy towards Buzz when he becomes their owner Andy's favorite toy.

This is a letterbox hybrid cache based on the practice of letterboxing first introduced in Dartmoor England in the 1850s. Letterboxes predated GPS and were found by following clues. The initial directions to this cache are in the form of pacing out a distance in a specified direction until you reach a landmark.
1) Make your way toward the freeway until you're 460 feet directly north from posted coordinates and standing on a sidewalk/bikeway next to a pepper tree.
2) Stay on the sidewalk and go about halfway to the other nearby pepper tree.
3) Enter into Certitude the (one word) answer to this question: Which of these two trees is higher?
You can validate your puzzle solution with
certitude.
If correct, certitude will give you the final coordinates, walking directions to take the "northwest passage" and avoid the "overland route", and a special message. Take a screenshot of the Certitude solution page
The container holds a logbook and a stamp of Woody (which is self inking). Please sign and/or stamp the log with your personal stamp (if you have one) and leave the cache stamp of Woody with the cache. You may use the cache stamp of Woody to stamp your CASC 25 passport and/or your personal letterboxing logbook. Leave the cache stamp of Woody in the container.
Don't forget to do the optional thing that the Certitude special message tells you about.
Have fun!
