This geocache is a series of 3 and is about the movie Coraline.
The Pink Palace is Coraline's and her parents new home in the real world and the "other world". Moving into to new house is weird to begin with but in the "other world" it is rendered uncanny, it is known but off in some unidentifiable way.
The Same could be said of Coraline's mother, she too is rendered uncanny whe "other mother" acts as her mothers' doppleganger. The doppelganger is explained laster as the Beldam Witch, lulling Coraline in to passivity to steal her eyes, the window to her soul, and replace them with buttons.
