May 19, 2012, the Saturday before Memorial Day Weekend was the inaugural event in Payson. The local crowd, aka KeeponTrekking, 321Kaboom, KtTris, and OPJim hosted this event. It was annual for several years, but after the untimely snowstorm in 2015 and the departure of several local geocachers, it took a 10 year hiatus. Now, we would like to invite local and nonlocal geocachers to come back to Payson in May!

321Kaboom, KtTris (now O2BHKN), Team OPJim and Flashlightman at the original event Under the Rim: Payson's First Event

Our event will include snacks, doorprizes, travel bug exchange, and of course new geocaches to be found. Ancient Payson Geocachers 321Kaboom and OPJim will be present. T-Bear-39 is bringing lots of fun stuff. We have visitors promised from Prescott, Phoenix, Mesa, and other areas. Most important, we can expect cooler weather than the Phoenix Metro Area. Come to meet others and to find the large number of local caches and Adventures available Under the Rim.

We are very happy to have "The Original Can of Beans" from the first geocache placed, as well as the Original Geocache Stash Tribute Bucket (see Team 360 and 321Kaboom logs below). This is a very prestigious addition to our event, courtesy extensive background efforts of Team 360 and 321Kaboom.
